There are many interesting facts about hair that the average person may not know. Here are a few of them:

• -A person can have 100,000 to 150,000 hairs on his or her head.
• 
• -A person can lose 50 to 100 hairs per day.
• -The average life of one hair is between four and 7 years.
• - Each time a hair falls out, a new one grows in its place (this can happen up to 20 times in a lifetime).
• -The actual shape and size of each hair is different for African–Americans, Asians and Caucasians.
• -Even perfectly straight hair is curly.
• -Hair grows at a rate of 3 mm per day. That’s 3 to 4 inches per month.

Just like hairspray, hair conditioner also has un-hair related uses!

1. Substitute for Shaving Cream

This is the use that everybody has probably already heard of. As an added bonus, your legs are left feeling extra-moisturized.

2. Pain-Free Bandage Removal

For a super sticky band-aid that will undoubtedly bring tears, try rubbing some conditioner where the adhesive meets the skin, and then wait a few minutes before gently peeling it off.

3. Removing a Stuck Ring

Warmer weather is coming, and with it comes swollen summertime fingers. Try a glob of conditioner to get that too- tight ring off.

4. Removes Make Up

Instead of using expensive make-up removers, just put a bit of conditioner onto a cotton ball. This works well when traveling.

5. Unshrink a Shrunken Sweater

Put a tablespoon of conditioner in a sinkful of warm water and soak your too small sweater for about 30 minutes, then take it out and gently stretch it. After it dries, it should be back to its former, un-shrunken size.

Not only does it hold your hairstyle in place, but you’ll never guess what else hairspray can do!!

1. Removes Lipstick from Fabric

Simply spray the stain and let it sit for several minutes. Wipe off the hairspray and the lipstick comes off right along with it.

2. Protect’s Childrens Artwork

You can preserve your childrens artwork for years  with  hairspray. This works especially well on chalk pictures.

3. Exterminate Houseflies

That annoying housefly can be gone by simply taking aim and firing. Just make sure that the hairspray is water soluble so that if any hits the wall, you’ll be able to wipe it clean. Also works on bees and wasps!

4. Extends the Life of Cut Flowers

Just as it preserves your hairstyle, a spritz of hairspray can preserve your flowers. Stand a foot away from the bouquet and give them a quick spray, just on the undersides of the leaves and the petals. Hairspray also works well on Christmas wreaths!

5. Keep Curtains Dirt-Free

Do you want to keep that like-new look for a while? The trick is to apply several coats of hairspray, letting each coat dry thoroughly before applying the next one.
